How to use it
- Type the caller's name. Add a photo if you like: it stays on your device.
- Choose when it rings: right away, or after 5 seconds up to 5 minutes. The screen stays black until then.
- Pick a ringtone (Chime, Marimba, Old phone or Silent) and a look.
- Press Start the fake call. When it rings, tap the green button to answer or the red one to decline.
- In the call, the timer counts up. Tap the red button to hang up. Press Esc to exit at any time.
Use Hear the ringtone to check the volume first.
Ideas
- Escape an awkward moment. Set it to ring after 5 minutes, put your phone face up on the table, and you have a reason to step away.
- Prank a friend. A video call from "Your Future Self", "The Moon" or "Their Cat", ringing on a laptop left open in the living room.
- Kids' pretend play. A call from Grandma, a superhero or a dinosaur. Add a photo or drawing as the caller and let them answer.
- Film and theater props. A clean incoming call screen with any name, no real app needed.
About the camera option
By default the small self view window just shows a gray tile. If you tick Show my real camera in the small window, the browser asks for camera permission when the call is answered and shows your own camera there, mirrored, like a real video call. The picture is only shown on this screen: it is not recorded, saved or sent. The camera turns off when you hang up or exit.
There is no real call and no one on the other end. The caller's side shows the photo you picked, or their initials.
Questions
Does the fake video call call anyone?
No. It is a page that looks like an incoming call. No call is made, no number is used and nothing is sent over the internet.
Can I use my own photo for the caller?
Yes. Pick an image with Caller photo. It is shown only on this device and is not uploaded or saved. Reloading the page removes it.
Will my phone really ring?
The page plays a ringtone through the speaker while the page is open, and many Android phones also vibrate. It cannot ring while the screen is locked or the browser is closed, so leave the page open in full screen.
Does it look like a real calling app?
It looks like a video call in general, with its own design. It does not copy any real app's look, logo or sounds.
How do I get out of it?
Press Esc, or tap the screen and use the small Esc button in the top left corner. On a phone you can also swipe back.
